Such a busy week.

We did a lot this past week. Thanks to last week's storm, the mountains were super snowy. We went on Saturday. It was Aiden's second time, Esmée's first time! He had such a blast chasing everyone to throw snowballs at them, especially his dad. Esmée was out there with me about fifteen minutes, she lounged in the truck the rest of the time though. I cannot wait until next year, when both of them can be running around in the snow together! I have also embarked on a relactation journey. I had to get a good pump & buy some herbal stuff to get that going. I have been pumping every three hours, for half an hour....around the clock. Hopefully it works, and I can breastfeed my little buggy.

Sorry for the super short post, but I must get going...

It was beautiful up there!

Shitty weather is no fun!

We have had nonstop rain for a few days now. The power went out when I was home alone with the kids yesterday. Aiden was in his room and went really quiet when it happened. I grabbed my cellphone and went looking for him, as soon as he saw me he yelled "Mum!" My poor little guy was startled, he's used to having his night light on in the dark. I really don't like rainy days, they completely throw everything off schedule. My husband is quite happy though, he loves the rain. Blegh...

Not to mention, I'm a baby when it comes to thunderstorms. Yes, mama is scared of the lights in the sky...go ahead have a laugh at my expense. For good reasons though, I have had two very scary experiences that both included a thunderstorm. The first, I was about eight-years-old... I had been playing with my best friend when out of nowhere the rain started. My sister was supposed to be watching me so she was yelling at me to get inside, but you know teenagers are always scary to little kids. Needless to say, I used to be terrified of her so I didn't go inside. I just stood in the outside hallway staring at her calling my name. Then the thunder started but  instead of running inside, I stood there....frozen in fear. In fear of her & the thunder.

The second, I was in seventh grade I think. I was home alone this time. It had been raining all night & I was watching tv. The sky was dark, the rain was falling pretty hard & then I heard it... So I got under the blankets when all of a sudden I heard a loud *BANG* followed by a loud buzzing noise...and the lights went out. I poked my head out and from the window I could see a blue flash. I pulled the shades back and looked out, the palm tree across my house had been hit. Some of it's branches had fallen onto the utility pole and there were sparks everywhere followed by flames. It lasted a few minutes, until the branch finally loosened from the cable and fell to the street. Most people might have been a little shaken up, maybe even entertained. I was terrified.

That concludes my post for the day, pretty boring I know. Nothing much I can do stuck at home with a sick two-year-old & a fussy newborn. Good day to you & I hope we have a better one tomorrow!

One of those weekends.

My oldest is sick, which means...he is being a fussy butt. And will cry at any little thing, therefore my youngest joins in the chorus. And I have two screaming children. Not fun. I knew this would happen due to those nitwit parents at the doctor's office on Thursday. So Saturday started off pretty early for us-- 5:27am to be exact-- it is now 12:37am Sunday morning & they are both STILL up. Aiden is beating up his dad with his teddy bear. I'm partial to the idea of sticking him in a box & shipping him off to Canada... Esmée is in her crib gooing and smiling at her bunny. I hope they both pass out soon, because my head misses my pillow. No chance of that though...Aiden decided he wants to get ALL his toys out of his room and scatter them throughout the hall and our room. Oh goodie, just what a tired mom wants-- MIDNIGHT CLEANING! If he wasn't so darn cute...heh.

On another subject, my little girl is three-months-old now. Feels like just yesterday I had her... *sigh* Although I must admit I cannot wait until they both interact more and play together. I'm super excited for those "Mooooooom, she won't get out of my room" or "Mooooooom, he's not sharing with me" moments.

Alrighty well, they are both finally passed out. After having to stop writing this blog about ten times, two rocking sessions & digging through the closet for a special blanket. They are both asleep. Good night...I sure as hell will think it is once I'm asleep. =)

What a long day.

Kids in bed? Check. Work-out done? Check. DH annoyed me at least once today? Double Check.

We got to the kid's appointment twenty minutes late! Good thing they had just gotten back from lunch & the waiting room was pretty much empty. It's usually at least a two hour wait to be seen and I always wonder why the hell do they give appointments to so many people at once? And I'm not talking two at 2pm, two at 3pm... NO, I'm talking two at 2pm, another two at 2:10pm. & so on.  After spending two hours in a waiting room, it's then extremely annoying to wait in the exam room another half hour. Also, I wonder why most parents nowadays ignore large signs posted on the office door... The sign clearly states the following:

"If you  DO NOT have an appointment and your child has a cough accompanied by a fever please go to the emergency room.

If you DO have an appointment and your child has a cough accompanied by a fever please sign in, ask the nurse for a mask & have a seat on the benches located in the hall. Someone will call you in when it is your turn to be seen."

I don't appreciate your lack of reading skills exposing my child to whatever it is your child has. I followed the rules when my kids were sick, what the fuck entitles you not to?

Anyway, they both got checked. My poor little girl cried so loud this time, that bitch literally stabbed the needle into her chubby thigh. I-- as I'm sure any mother would, wanted to smack her. But of course I resisted the urge as to avoid being arrested. Heh. On the other hand, my little guy did so well! Aiden got a hemoglobin test and watched her do it the entire time, as if intrigued at the red stuff coming out of his finger. Then proceeded to show of his band-aid.

After that we stopped by Target to return a kung-fu panda toy that he got for Christmas. He is scared of that thing! His cousin has the same one and he runs from it when it does the 360 high kick, maybe he thinks it's going to beat him up? Lol. I spotted the Eddie Bauer carseat I want to get him. My parent's have been taking him on outings with them, he has been showing signs of jealousy since Esmée arrived. So DH & I, along with my parents have been taking him on solo outings. Lately we have been forgetting to get his seat out of their truck, which is why we were late to the appt. today! I love the seat and perfect time to buy another one. =)

I almost forgot! Pertaining to my must-lose-all-this-baby-weight journey. My sister let us borrow her Gazelle Edge exercise machine. I like it because since I am a newby at this, I don't want to push my body too much. It's not a machine that really gets your heart pumping, but it does help burn calories and raise your endurance. I'm really hoping Joey will get me a treadmill so I can run! With two kids it's really not that easy to just go for a run when I want. Also, I recorded a few different exercise videos on FITtv & wow did I feel the burn.(That's channel 261 for all you DirectTV ladies who are hoping to be bathing suit ready by this summer). Needless to say, my body feels sore today & I like it! No pain, no gain right?

Well it's pretty late now, I wonder what tomorrow will bring...

It's one in the morning...

I'm wide awake. Why? Maybe it's the 45 minute work-out brought on by must-lose-all-this-baby-weight mode, or the giggling two-year-old who had a long nap this afternon... I'll stick with the loud child as my excuse for why I will not be up at the crack of dawn later today. I highly doubt my husband will mind having to handle a screaming infant & hyper toddler for a few hours. Afterall, I do it twenty four hours a day...seven days a week. I can't complain though, he put our little girl to sleep so I could have a well deserved shower because he cares about me-- that or he could smell me from across the room after my work-out. Heh.

On a parting note, I am in for a very sore day accompanied by two children I know will be very fussy. Aiden & Esmée have scheduled physicals that will include shots... Good thing my dear husband will be home to help manage the chaos. An emergency Tylenol pick-up will have to be added to our busy schedule. Please pray for my sanity.

Buenas Noches!
